Celtic Dolphin Pendant
n Celtic mythology dolphins were attributed with healing powers and the image of people riding on their backs can still be found on some Celtic artefacts. Celtic seafarers, in particular, held dolphins in high regard and they became symbols of good luck, possibly because they were commonly seen during fair weather when the seas were calm. To the Celts, dolphins also represented rebirth, intelligence and friendship.
The venerable alloy of pewter is made of 92% tin with copper and antimony to harden it and enhance casting. At St Justin the distinguished tradition of casting pewter lives on. High quality pewter ingots are fused in a crucible and the molten metal is poured into rubber moulds created from the original master design.
After cooling and linishing, the items are hand-polished and assembled by craftsmen.
